Changing the Pictures on Your Website

How it works
Changing pictures on your website works the same as any other change — you type a request, the AI does it, you approve the preview. The only difference is the request mentions which image.
You have three options for where the new image comes from:
- The AI generates one for you (no upload needed)
- You provide a photo from your phone/computer (upload first, then request)
- You point to a photo online (paste a link)
Option 1 — Let the AI create one (easiest)
If you don't have a specific photo in mind, the AI can make one. Just describe what you want:
- "Replace the big photo at the top with a picture of a cozy bakery interior, warm lighting, fresh bread on display"
- "Add a hero image to the Services page showing a friendly mechanic working on a car"
- "Create a background image for the testimonials section — soft blue gradient with subtle geometric shapes"
Option 2 — Upload your own photo
If you took the photo on your phone or have it on your computer:
- Open your dashboard → click Pages in the left menu
- Find the page that has the image you want to change
- Click Manage on that page
- Look for the image and click Replace (or use the AI request below if you don't see a Replace button)
"Replace the big photo at the top of the homepage with the image at https://i.imgur.com/abc123.jpg"
Option 3 — Point to a photo online
Have a photo you found on your camera roll uploaded somewhere already (Imgur, Dropbox, your social media, a Google Drive link)? Just paste the link into the AI request:
"Change the team photo on the About page to https://drive.google.com/the-photo-link"
Make sure the link works in a private browsing window — if it doesn't open without login, the AI can't see it either.
What makes a good image request?
📍 Say WHERE. "The hero image at the top of the homepage", "the third photo down on the About page", "the picture next to the pricing table".
🎨 Describe the new image clearly if you want AI to generate it. The more detail, the better:
- ✅ "A close-up of fresh sourdough bread on a wooden board, soft window light, warm tones"
- ❌ "A nice food photo"
📐 Mention sizing if you care. "Full-width", "filling the section", "small thumbnail in the corner". The AI usually figures this out, but it can't read your mind.
Tips for getting good results
- For your own photos: the higher resolution the better. Phones take great photos these days. Hold landscape (sideways) for hero images — most spots on websites are wider than they are tall.
- For AI-generated images: longer, more specific descriptions work better than short vague ones. Mention lighting ("soft natural light", "dramatic shadows"), mood ("cozy and inviting", "professional and clean"), and the main subject.
- For online images: make sure you have permission to use them. Don't grab photos off random Google searches — most are copyrighted. Free stock photo sites like unsplash.com and pexels.com have thousands of usable photos.
Common questions
"How much does an image change cost?"
Same as any other AI change — $1 (or counts as one of your 5 free changes). AI-generated images and uploaded images cost the same.
"Will the AI use copyrighted photos by mistake?"
No — the AI generates original images, not copies of real photos. If you provide your own image (Option 2 or 3), make sure you have the right to use it.
"Can I get the AI to make the same kind of image style I have elsewhere?"
Yes — reference your existing images in the request: "Add a section image in the same style as the hero photo on the homepage". The AI will try to match the look and feel.
"My uploaded image looks blurry"
Higher resolution wins. If you took the photo on your phone, the original (before texting it to yourself or compressing it) is highest quality — share that direct from your phone's Photos app, not after sending it through messages.
