Cancelling & Keeping Your Site
4 min read
The short version
Cancelling is one click, and it's safe. When you cancel, your site stays live through a short grace period so you can change your mind, export your files, or move your domain. Nothing is hidden, nothing is held hostage. Your files are yours, and your domain is yours.
How to cancel
- Sign in at app.siteglowup.ai.
- Open Account → Billing.
- Click Cancel subscription at the bottom.
- Confirm. That's it — your card stops getting charged.
What happens to your live site after you cancel
- Right away: your site stays online. Cancelling stops future billing — it doesn't yank your site offline.
- A 5-day grace period: your site keeps running, and you can reactivate with one click from Account → Billing if you change your mind. No data lost, no re-build needed.
- After 5 days: your site is permanently removed from our hosting. It is not kept or archived, and removal can't be undone — keeping a site online costs money, so an unpaid site comes down. But the files you export and your domain are always yours (see below). Your credit balance stays with your account, not the site — cancelling one site doesn't touch it, and it only goes away if you close the account.
Reactivating
While you're in the 5-day grace period, the Billing page shows a Reactivate button. One click puts your site straight back to where it was — same pages, same content, same address. Once the 5 days pass, the site is permanently removed and can't be reactivated — you'd start a fresh build (your domain is still yours, so you can point it at the new site).
Your files are always yours
You can export your whole site as a ZIP on any plan — before you cancel, during the grace period, anytime. It's standard HTML, CSS, and images, ready to host anywhere. Export is never gated behind a paid tier.
Your domain is always yours
If you registered a domain through us, your name is on the official ownership record — you can keep it or transfer it to any other registrar in one click, whether or not you stay a customer. If you brought your own domain, it was always yours; just point it wherever you like. Cancelling your site plan never touches your domain ownership.
What is and isn't final once charged
See the billing and cancellation policy for the full authoritative version.
- The free build: there's nothing to refund — you never paid for it.
- Monthly hosting (the $10–12/mo Keep plan or $29+ Growth plan): cancels forward. Billing stops when you cancel and you keep service through the period you already paid for. We don't bill partial months and we don't refund the unused part of a month.
- The one-time Published upgrade ($299): optional, and only charged if you choose it — it connects your own domain, removes our badge, and makes your site indexable. It's non-refundable once provisioned, because provisioning happens immediately.
- Domains: domain registration fees are non-refundable — we pay the registrar upfront. The domain stays registered in your name either way.
- AI credits: credit purchases are non-refundable, used or unused. Credits never expire — they're yours as long as your account is active. If you close the account, any unused balance goes with it. A credit is only spent when the work actually goes through, so a failed job never costs you one.
Common questions
"If I stop paying, does my site get deleted instantly?"
No. It stays live through the 5-day grace period, where you can reactivate or export. After 5 days it's permanently removed from our hosting.
"Will you keep hosting my site for free if I cancel?"
No — after the 5-day grace period an unpaid site is permanently removed. But you keep your files (export anytime) and your domain (it's registered in your name).
"I cancelled by accident."
If you're still in the 5-day grace period, click Reactivate on the Billing page. Once the 5 days pass the site is permanently removed — email support@siteglowup.ai and we'll help you rebuild (your domain is still yours).
